Resellers
ISPBills supports reseller-based operations so you can grow your service area without giving every partner full admin access. A reseller manages their own customers, while the main admin keeps control of pricing, permissions, and financial settlement.
In some parts of the product, reseller accounts may also be labelled as operators. In this guide, both terms refer to the same role unless a page says otherwise.
Reseller types
| Type | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Prepaid reseller | The admin adds balance to the reseller account in advance. Customer activations and renewals deduct from that balance. | Operators who want strict spending control |
| Postpaid reseller | The reseller collects money from customers first and settles with the admin later, up to a limit defined by the admin. | Trusted partners who report and pay periodically |
What a reseller can do
Depending on the permissions you assign, a reseller can:
- Create and manage their own customer accounts
- Activate packages and renew subscriptions
- Collect payments from customers
- Review balances, statements, and transaction history
- Work only within the scope assigned by the admin
How prepaid resellers work
Prepaid resellers must maintain a positive balance before they can activate or renew customers.
- The reseller pays the admin.
- The admin opens Resellers & Managers > Resellers/Operators.
- The admin selects Actions > Add Balance.
- The amount is added to the reseller account.
- The reseller uses that balance when activating or renewing customer services.
If the prepaid balance reaches zero, the reseller cannot activate or renew more customers until additional balance is added.
How postpaid resellers work
Postpaid resellers can activate customers first and settle their outstanding balance later.
The admin can define a collection limit for each postpaid reseller. If the reseller reaches that limit without making a payment, ISPBills blocks further activations until the outstanding amount is reduced.
Record cash received from a reseller
When a reseller pays the admin, record the payment using one of these paths:
- Resellers & Managers > Resellers/Operators > Actions > Entry Cash Received
- Accounts > Accounts Receivable > Entry for Cash Received
Both options record the payment and reduce the reseller's outstanding balance.
Can a reseller pay online?
Yes. If the admin has an online payment gateway configured, resellers can pay through the available online payment methods.
