The Send SMS feature allows you to compose and dispatch SMS messages to one or more customers directly from the ISPBills dashboard. Whether you need to notify a single customer about their account or reach an entire zone at once, this tool gives you full control over who receives the message and what it says.

Selecting Recipients

You can address messages to individual customers or to a filtered group. When targeting a group, use the available filters to narrow down your audience:

  • Operator – limit recipients to customers assigned to a specific field operator or reseller.
  • Zone – send only to customers within a particular geographic zone or network area.
  • Package – target customers subscribed to a specific internet package.

You can combine filters freely. For example, you could select all customers in Zone A who are on the "10 Mbps" package. The recipient count updates as you apply filters so you always know how many customers will receive the message before you send it.

Composing the Message

Type your message in the text area provided. ISPBills supports a set of template variables that are automatically replaced with each customer's real data when the message is sent. This lets you write one message that feels personal to every recipient.

Available template variables:

Variable Replaced with
{customer_name} The customer's full name
{package_name} The name of the customer's active package
{amount_due} The outstanding balance on the customer's account
{expiry_date} The date the customer's current package or billing period expires

Example message:

Dear {customer_name}, your {package_name} package expires on {expiry_date}. Please renew to avoid interruption. – Your ISP

Character Count and Cost Estimate

As you type, the composer shows a live character count and an estimated SMS count (a single SMS is 160 characters for plain text; messages longer than that are sent as multi-part SMS and billed accordingly). The estimated cost in SMS credits is shown alongside the recipient count so you can review the total expenditure before confirming.

SMS Credits

Every outgoing message deducts SMS credits from your account's SMS balance. Make sure your balance is sufficient before sending to a large group. If the balance is too low to cover all recipients, the send will be blocked and you will be prompted to top up. You can check your current SMS balance and purchase additional credits under Settings → SMS Gateway.

Sending the Message

Once you are satisfied with the recipient selection and message content, click Send SMS. A confirmation prompt displays the total number of recipients and the estimated credit cost. Confirm to dispatch the messages immediately. A delivery report becomes available shortly after sending, showing the status of each individual message.
