Payment Link Broadcast
The Payment Link Broadcast feature sends customers a personalised SMS containing a direct link to your online payment page. Customers who receive the link can tap it to open a pre-filled payment form in their browser and settle their outstanding bill without needing to contact you directly. This reduces payment friction and encourages faster settlement of dues.
How It Works
When a payment link broadcast is triggered, ISPBills generates a unique payment URL for each customer. The URL directs the customer to the online payment portal where their account and outstanding amount are already populated. The customer selects a payment method and completes the transaction. Payment is automatically reconciled against their account in ISPBills.
Sending a Payment Link to an Individual Customer
To send a payment link to a single customer:
- Open the customer's profile from Customers → Customer List.
- Click the Send Payment Link button (or find the option in the customer's action menu).
- Review the pre-composed message, which includes the customer's name and their unique payment URL.
- Click Send to dispatch the SMS immediately.
This is useful when following up with a specific customer who has an overdue balance.
Sending a Payment Link in Bulk
To broadcast payment links to all customers with outstanding bills, or to a filtered subset:
- Navigate to SMS & Notifications → Payment Link Broadcast.
- Apply filters to narrow down recipients:
- Zone – target customers within a particular zone.
- Package – limit to customers on a specific plan.
- Operator – filter by assigned operator or reseller.
- Balance threshold – optionally set a minimum outstanding amount so that only customers who owe above a certain value are included.
- Review the estimated recipient count and SMS cost.
- Compose or confirm the message template. The payment link variable
{payment_link}is automatically inserted into the message and replaced with each customer's unique URL at send time. - Choose to send immediately or schedule the broadcast for a later time.
- Click Send (or Schedule) to confirm.
Message Template
A typical payment link message looks like this:
Dear {customer_name}, you have an outstanding balance of {amount_due}. Pay now using this link: {payment_link} – Your ISP
The {payment_link} variable is mandatory in payment link broadcasts. The system will warn you if it is missing from the message before sending.
Notes
- Each payment link is unique to the customer and expires after the customer's bill is settled or after a configurable number of days, depending on your payment gateway settings.
- Customers do not need to log in to use the payment link; authentication is embedded in the URL.
- One SMS credit is consumed per recipient. Ensure your SMS balance is sufficient before broadcasting.
- The online payment gateway must be configured and active for payment links to work. Contact your system administrator if the payment link feature is unavailable.
