Overview

The Router Log displays syslog messages fetched from your MikroTik routers. It gives network engineers and NOC staff a centralised place to review router-level events without needing to log into each device individually.

What Is Recorded

The Router Log collects syslog messages sent by your MikroTik devices to ISPBills. Each entry includes:

Column Description
Timestamp The date and time the message was generated by the router.
Router Name The name of the MikroTik device that produced the message.
Topic The MikroTik syslog topic (e.g. system, firewall, dhcp, pppoe).
Message The raw log message text as reported by the router.

Common Use Cases

  • Diagnosing connectivity issues — Search for error or warning messages related to a specific interface or PPPoE service.
  • Tracking router restarts — Look for system topic entries referencing reboots or power cycles.
  • Firewall events — Review dropped packets or access-control events recorded under the firewall topic.
  • DHCP / address assignment — Trace IP address assignments or lease expirations.

Searching and Filtering

Use the search bar to find entries by keyword — for example, a specific IP address, error code, or router name. Use the date range filter to focus on events within a particular window.

When diagnosing an incident, a good approach is to first narrow the date range to the time of the reported problem, then filter by router name to isolate the relevant device.

Exporting to CSV

Click Download CSV to export the filtered log entries. This is useful when you need to share diagnostics with a vendor or include evidence in an incident report.

Adding Reviewer Notes

Click on any log entry to open it and add a Reviewer Note. Use notes to record your diagnostic conclusions, link to related tickets, or flag an entry for follow-up by another team member.
