Customer Zones
Overview
A zone is a geographic or logical grouping that you define to organise your customer base. Zones can represent physical areas your network covers — for example, "Downtown", "Block A", "South Campus", or "Tower 3" — or any other segmentation that is meaningful to your ISP operations. Assigning customers to zones makes it easier to filter lists, generate reports, and coordinate field teams.
Creating a Zone
- Navigate to Customers → Customer Zones (or Settings → Zones, depending on your version).
- Click Add Zone or Create New Zone.
- Enter a Zone Name that clearly identifies the area or group (e.g. "Mirpur Block 10").
- Optionally add a description or notes about the zone.
- Click Save. The new zone is immediately available for assignment.
You can create as many zones as your network requires. There is no limit on the number of zones.
Editing and Deleting Zones
- To rename a zone or update its description, click the Edit icon next to it in the zones list and make your changes.
- To delete a zone, click the Delete icon. Customers currently assigned to that zone will have their zone field cleared. Consider reassigning those customers to another zone before deleting.
Assigning a Zone to a Customer
Zones are assigned at the customer level. You can set a zone when creating a new customer or at any time by editing an existing one.
During Customer Creation
- Go to Customers → Add Customer.
- In the customer form, locate the Zone dropdown field.
- Select the appropriate zone from the list.
- Complete the rest of the form and save.
Editing an Existing Customer
- Open the customer's profile.
- Click Edit.
- Change the Zone field to the desired zone.
- Click Save.
Using Zones to Filter the Customer List
Once customers are assigned to zones, you can use the zone filter on the main Customers page to quickly view all customers in a specific area. Select a zone from the filter dropdown at the top of the list and the table will update to show only matching customers.
Zone-Based Reporting
Several reports in the system support filtering by zone, allowing you to:
- View total bills and collections for a specific zone.
- Identify which zones have the highest number of unpaid accounts.
- Assist field collection teams by printing customer lists for their assigned zone.
